Kosovo and Slovenia, new opportunities for cooperation in agriculture!

We are pleased to inform you that today in Prishtina, 01 October 2021 - an important meeting took place between Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Faton Peci, Ambassador of Slovenia in Kosovo, Minca Benedejcic accompanied by the Director of the Slovenian Business Club, Bajram Fusha, with whom he discussed opportunities for further cooperation in the sectors covered by MAFRD, in order to strengthen and further the development of agriculture throughout the country.

During this meeting, Minister Faton Peci presented the priorities and development projects, which are planned to be implemented during this mandate, which will be in function of the development and sustainability of this sector, which is the main contributor to economic development.

 

"Slovenian expertise is welcome both in the exchange of experiences for sustainable forest management and in achieving the IPARD criteria so that Kosovo has direct access to European Union funds for the advancement of the agricultural sector", added further Minister Faton Peci .

 

Thanking the Slovenian state for the continuous support it has given to Kosovo, Minister Peci pointed out that the two countries have many opportunities for cooperation in the field of economy and agriculture in particular. During this meeting, they agreed to establish new partnerships between the two countries, in order to create opportunities for cooperation between businessmen from Kosovo and those from Slovenia by signing a Memorandum of Cooperation between the two countries in the future in order to advance agriculture and forestry sector.

 

At the same time, Ambassador of Slovenia in Kosovo, Minca Benedejcic and Mr. Bajram Fusha, expressed their readiness to further deepen the partnership between MAFRD, the Embassy of Slovenia in Kosovo and the Slovenian Business Club reconfirmed the readiness of country to assist the agricultural development of Kosovo.
